<p>Pelawan has narrow distribution region. The species is dispersed within Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore and Sumatra. It grows in primary and secondary rain forest, coastal forest and along the river. Flowers are pollinated by insects. Pelawan is propagated by seed.</p>
