Kelumpang burong thrives in the lush primary and secondary jungles of tropical lowlands, as well as in hilly forest regions. Its blossoms are primarily pollinated by insects. This resilient tree adapts well to urban environments and begins to bear fruit within 4 to 5 years. Propagation is achieved through seeds; for optimal germination, it is advisable to remove the black seed coat and the surrounding white pulp prior to sowing. Specimens with a trunk diameter of 10 cm can be transplanted without the necessity of crown pruning.
